Backlinks Made Easy

If you are looking to strengthen your online presence through blogging and videos, you need to know how to SEO.

Have you noticed that every SEO forum or big blogs you stop by are constantly touting the power and necessity of backlinks? Must be a pretty big deal if you ask me. ūüėČ

What exactly is a backlink?

A backlink is a link on another website (external) that leads to a page on your website. For instance, a link on this page to a page on another website would be a backlink for that webpage. Backlinks can come from a variety of sources. It helps to improve your search engine rankings, and they provide additional exposure and access to your website from external sources. This is also called Off Page SEO.

There are tons of ways to get backlinks and each of the methods takes time to learn and master. Rather than getting super-in-depth with any single back-linking strategy, I’m going to give you some tips to get backlinks. If implemented correctly, your content will show up on search engines with your relevant keywords. The image below gives you an illustration on how backlinks look like.

The backlinks made easy tips

While the best backlinks are those that are earned on the strength of great content, great content will not be seen unless the web page it occupies is highly visible in the search results. If it’s not seen, it won’t attract backlinks. If it doesn’t attract backlinks, search engines will not see it as an authoritative page and, as a result, it will be virtually invisible in the search results. Little or no visibility in the search results perpetuates the vicious cycle of little or no search referral traffic, few or no backlinks, and low authority.

How do we get backlinks?

1) There are proven option of getting your articles published on authority article directories in order to increase the exposure of your website to millions of visitors and get valuable search engine rankings. Getting published in article directories won‚Äôt cost you a dime so I think you’ll agree this makes it a great investment.

A good thing to remember, in regards to backlinks, is to place all the links permissible to you in your article. A thorough reading of the editorial guidelines will help you create valuable content efficiently. Typically, depending on the article directory, you can have one or two “non-self-serving” links in the article body and two “self-serving” links in the author resource box.

2) As we all know Social bookmarks are a great way to get backlinks. Social bookmarking sites get crawled constantly by the search engines. When you post a bookmark on one, your will likely be crawled in a matter of hours. It really is that easy. Of course, you can never guarantee anything that Google or other search engines will do, but your link is more than likely to be indexed in a relatively short period of time with just a bookmark or two.

3) Another great way of getting backlinks are through press releases and news announcements. This approach gives good results since there are many websites that can publish your articles for free through announcements. You need to make a professionally written document for a press release to be able to attract more attention and get visitors to your website.

4) You can also get backlinks by exchanging contents and affiliate programs. This can be through offering RSS feeds to interested sites for free as they do the same for you. You can then be able to get more visitors as they look to get more information based on the abstract they read from other websites.

5) You can use joint ventures, co-branding or partnership for the purpose of getting backlinks. To do this you can make a request to have them link back to your website. Another option on how to get backlinks is to do a guest post on these websites and include a link as free content for them. This will make it possible for them to get more traffic through reference.

6) Another method to use is the “link-bait”. This basically means giving away a gift so as to be able to get backlinks. A way to do this is to have gift cards from shopping websites online to attract more visitors to your websites. Many readers will want to get the gift in the offer and this increases readership, since they have to go through your website to win.

7) Forums can be an amazing means for building blog backlinks. What you do is to search out related forums in your niche. I recommend adding your blog url as a backlink in your forum signature. Then every post you make has a backlink to your blog. A good forum post can send 100s of visitors to your blog in a week, or even a day.

8) And here’s an important one…make sure you deep link within your own blog.¬† Meaning, you want to link one article to another relevant articles within your own blog.

Facebook Attraction Marketing Tips

Facebook Attraction Marketing Tips

If you don’t have a lot of budget, you can build strong followers and get leads to your business with Facebook. The problem is, I see a lot of people do social media marketing the wrong way every single day. They constantly pitch on their walls, or use auto posters in various groups.

When you pitch so much asking people to join your business, you can lose your friends in your network. Or your friends can choose to “hide” all future posts done by you. Basically, it’s like you never existed.

Imagine… what if you have full 5000 friends and yet majority of them hide you from their newsfeeds. (ouch!)

Start by customizing your Facebook cover. Put up your smiley face picture as your profile picture. People relate to people, not pictures of pets or kids. You can take a picture of yours with your pet or children though. But it comes down to: Don’t hide behind your computer if you want to make money online.

When I first started, my idea of making money online was to hide behind the computer. I thought I could pull it off this way. I didn’t want to start a blog, I didn’t want to do videos, I used a pen name to publish articles in article directories. Basically, I didn’t want to be “found” online. I thought there were so much creepy people out there that I wanted to have no online presence whatsoever.¬† It was a big mistake.

Facebook is such a goldmine if you know how to utilize it to get leads. But spamming and pitching people to get into your business isn’t the right way to do it. Don’t send private messages to get people to join you. If you’re doing this right now, stop.

Here’s what I suggest you do if you want to ATTRACT the right people into your business: Facebook Attraction Marketing Tips

1) Clean up your wall. Don’t post crap and useless stuff on your wall: Anything non marketing, business, personal story that can motivate people…just don’t post them.¬† If people want to read news they’d go to news websites. If people want to comment on entertainment stuff they’d go to gossip/celebrity news websites. People who’re running a business want to read related posts, they want to be motivated themselves, they look up to their peers and other entrepreneurs.

Don’t post politics, religion related, or hates on other people either.
I’m not saying that you can’t publicly show your beliefs. But when you constantly post about your religion, you’re driving people who have different beliefs away from you. If you want to do this, I recommend you start a new Facebook account strictly for family and friends. I personally have two Facebook accounts (personal and business) myself.

The bottom line is, you want to be seen as a leader, someone who’re an influence in business. If you’re a negative person talking about your life and other people, nobody want to be around you.¬† Your wall is a reflection of you on Facebook.

2) Allow people to comment and follow you if they’re not comfortable to add you as “friends” yet. Go to settings and you can see the option to allow “follow”.

3) Provide value and be of help to other people. Don’t expect anything in return. It’ll comeback tenfold to you. This is a very competitive industry, but it’s worth it if you know how to present yourself.

What make you different than the average Joe or Jane who’re pitching non stop? Think about how you can add value to people’s lives. 95% people jump into online marketing or network marketing industry thinking they can be rich overnight or within a short time. Why do you think the failure rate is so high?¬† If you have this mentality, I suggest you stick to your day job; I am saving you years of frustrations.

4) Don’t show off money on people’s face. There’s a place to do it, and Facebook wall isn’t the place to do it. People are turned off by this.

  • Post your story, how you overcome obstacles in life, let people see that you’re real, that you’re vulnerable. People can relate to you this way. No one is perfect, just be you. Don’t hide yourself.
  • Give useful tips to other people.

6) You don’t need to post more than once a day on your own Facebook wall, but make it count. Don’t just post random quotes, so many people are doing this. It’s no longer unique, people get tired of seeing the same stuff posted over and over again. Write useful articles.

– Start following authors, and top leaders in MLM, Internet Marketing, and Motivational speakers. (Brian Tracy, T Harv Eker, Tony Robbins, Seth Godin, Jim Rohn. If you’re a network marketer, follow top network marketers in various companies. Don’t just limit yourself to people that you know.

– Hit like and comment on their posts, not just short post like “thank you”.¬† Formulate your thoughts before you comment.

– When you spend so much time reading and commenting on other people’s posts, you’ll come up with a lot of ideas on what to post for your own wall.

This is a great way to get people to “friend” you. This strategy works every time.

7) Don’t¬† add hundreds of people at once, you’ll end up in the “Facebook jail”.¬† Especially if a number of them don’t want to accept your friendship (for whatever reason). After someone accepted your friendship, send them a private message to say “Thank you for adding me, nice to meet you.” Keep it simple.

8) Get quality people on your Facebook friends list. Don’t rush to maximize your friends list to 5K. I see people everyday trying to max out their friends list. Think of FB friends like your email list, treat them with respect. Give them so much value that they’d join your business when you post a link within the body of your post.

9) Connect with people outside of your biz ops. People make the mistake of connecting with only people in the same business opportunity. Why are you limiting yourself with people who’re already in the same business?¬† Think about it.

10) Invest in a domain that you can use for fb marketing. Something fun and interesting is always good. Or you can stick to your own name. Use that domain to forward to your primary business. Use this domain regardless what biz op you want to promote in the future, think of it as part of your branding.

Here’s a format example of a good post:

These are my top 10 Facebook Attraction Marketing Tips.

If you have thousands of people on your Facebook friends list now but aren’t seeing much result, it’s because you’ve been doing FB wrong all along. You need to pop on other people’s newsfeeds, daily if you want to get results from posting on Facebook.

Process Of Making Money Online

Way too many people over complicate the process of making money online. So I wanted to break down the process in four simple repetitive steps.

process of making money online

Here’s the Simplified Process of Making Money Online

#1) You need to have¬†an offer. It can be a free offer (a bait) or it can be a hot product in demand. If you don’t have anything to sell, you don’t have a business.¬†It’s that simple.

#2) You need to know how to setup a squeeze page/landing page. If you don’t know how, it is time to learn and master how to build a squeeze page. This is how you capture your leads email addresses, or even mobile numbers if you’re doing SMS marketing in addition to email marketing. There are several ways of doing this. But it comes down to either giveaway some type of¬†free offer¬†or¬†redirect people to a sales page.

Giving people some type of free valuable offer is a great way for building relationships and establishing trust.  This is also why I love blogs. Your blog can be used as a central marketing platform to connect with your followers, readers and subscribers. Give away all your knowledge and your training. People automatically see you as someone they can trust. Sales come naturally from this process alone.

If you choose to promote a hot product and hook up your squeeze page to a sales page, then consider this… you need to show yourself before redirecting your leads to the sales page.¬†Ideally a video introduction stating who you are, and what your leads are about to see on the next page. It is just like you are introducing yourself like you would if you were to meet someone new in real life. Most marketers¬†are sending their leads from cold traffic directly to a sales page, and this is a¬†very¬†bad practice. Only a very small percentage of people will buy right away. More than 80% of people who are presented the offers will not buy right away, and this is why your follow ups are important.

#3) Re-Invest your profits into scaling up. Most people don’t do this. If you promote high tickets offers, let’s just say you make $3000 commission. Think about reinvesting at least 20% of that profit into scaling up. Buy paid traffic, scale up your SEO, outsource more so you can get more done by leveraging a virtual assistant, etc. If you want to scale up to a six figure business fast, this is the fastest way to do it.

#4) Rinse and repeat. Once you get that down, all you need to do is repeat the process. Test, tweak, and repeat the whole process above.

As you can see, the process of making money online is dead simple. You can get up and running in four simple steps.

process of making money online

Now listen up…I am¬†going to let you in a little secret as you go through this¬†process of making money online.

People don’t buy products. People buy people.¬†People don’t like to be sold to, but they love to buy.

Think about it as you read that and put yourself in the same situation. Do you like to be pitched at…? Exactly…;)

Give out your best value upfront. Give and give more. Don’t even think of profit when you start. Let them come to you and make their own decision. And trust me this is the only way you will start making money online. As harsh as this may sound to you, you can’t expect to make quick bucks in this industry. If you’re broke to your last penny, don’t turn to the Internet to start making money. It won’t happen overnight. ¬†However, if you’re broke but willing to put in a lot of work, you will see results in 6 months.¬†The key is¬†be consistent.¬†

Start learning and implementing.

How to market a business

How to market a business online

I was inspired to write this post after seeing a number of people who promote their business the wrong way. There has been countless of times where I was approached by marketers on Facebook who pitched their businesses to me. In fact, some of them were downright ‘rude’ in my book; such as sending a message without greetings and went straight to pitch “Join me HERE, you’ll grow your business FAST“. My thoughts were…”Let me think for a second…who are YOU and WHY should I join you?” ūüėČ

You should first build a rapport before you attempt to ask anyone to join your business. And in my experience,  blogging is a wonderful way to market both your business and your brand.  Additionally,  text marketing and email marketing also help you in building and maintaining relationships with your followers and prospects.

How to market a business online via blogging

If you are an internet marketer, a product creator or network marketer,  your blog should be used as a way to communicate and provide value to your followers and prospects. You do not want to use your blog as pure advertising platform. I have seen a lot of blogs that are overloaded with graphics. This is a turn off to anyone who comes across your blog. You want to keep your blog as clean and professional as possible.

So how to market a business online via blogging exactly? Your blog should be filled with content that can also prove that you are an expert in your niche. You should aim to be a problem solver in your field, this will make you valuable and respectable in your field (think authority). People often ask me how to market a business online with blogs and what are the benefits of blogging? Well it comes down to one thing.  You will have a lot of influence to your followers and prospects, which will result in future sales. Business is all about relationships, and your blog is the bridge to your followers.

While at this, I want to share a little bit of tips on how to market a small business online via blogging as well.

How to market a small business online via blogging

Many small business owners do not blog. In fact, if you are one of them, you are already leaving a lot of money on the table.

Blogging has been exceptionally simplified today with WordPress (the most popular blogging platform). You can easily install with a few clicks via your webhost and get up and running within minutes. (I cover this in my bootcamp, so feel free to take advantage of my free bootcamp if you have not already). Of course, if you want to customize your blog, it can take a little bit more time and some know how. When you blog, you can connect and share relevant and timely information with your customers and clients.  In an essence, it is a way you communicate directly with them. Your blog can be the most powerful content marketing platform.

We are in a digital technology era now that any business without websites or any online presence, cannot sustain and compete other businesses with websites.¬†And today we are definitely¬†seeing a lot of the world population spending their time online. If your business do not have a blog, you are losing out to your competitors.¬†I have seen time and time again people look for information online for nearly everything. People go online to check out local deals, restaurants, events, etc …¬†from home,¬†while on the go, via their mobile phones.¬†¬†So if you think you are doing well without a website or a blog, think again.

If you are a business owner who already have a website, you also want to make sure that your blog is mobile optimized. More people are spending time online via their mobile devices.  Fortunately, many blog themes are already mobile compatible. For example, I use Genesis theme for my blog on , and it is by far one of my favorite themes.

How to market a business example…

Say you own a Japanese restaurant in Los¬†Angeles. Then there is¬†a tourist or someone who¬†just moved to Los¬†Angeles, and is looking for a Japanese restaurant. The most common keywords being used would be something like “Best Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles“. Now,¬†there are a lot of Japanese restaurants in Los Angeles. Guess what? The first few results in Google would be the place the person go visit.¬†Now think about this if your “potential customer”¬†see how you engaged you are in your blog, people are 90% more likely to go visit your restaurant. You can also give “live discounts” via blogging on your blog. Something like¬†“Friday only discount, buy one entree get another free – lunch only offer”. ¬†And don’t forget to share this on your social media account and let it go viral. ¬†You may think that you do not have a lot to write about Japanese restaurant, there are tons that you can write about; From your menu, to pictures of your chef cooking mouth watering dishes, and even traditional Japanese cooking. Many people appreciate this type of story.

Bottom line, if you are a business owner,  you can maximize your profit without much out of pocket costs by leveraging content marketing a.k.a by blogging.  Blogging is powerful and can bring you fresh leads and customers.

What is a squeeze page

I got this question a lot. What is a squeeze page?

Basically, a squeeze page is where people put their email addresses in exchange for information. Sometimes a squeeze page is also called an opt in page, sign up page, subscription page, or a landing page. A squeeze page is designed to build your list especially if you run your business online.

Understanding a squeeze page in a step by step process:

1) You create a squeeze page (something like below, squeeze page samples)

what is a squeeze page

squeeze page

2) You have valuable information that your leads possibly want in the form of downloadable eBook, videos, tools, tips, etc. This is called the lead magnet factor. You want to have your offer to be irresistible that your prospects would quickly enter their email addresses without second thoughts. This can be a challenge these days. Because many people are more aware than ever of the possibility of getting spammed and scammed.  As soon as someone opt in to your squeeze page, you already have it set up to redirect to the information that your leads are looking for.

3) The entire goal of a squeeze page,  is for you to have a list to build relationships with.

What is a squeeze page

If your business is on the Internet, then you need to have some form of squeeze page where you can collect your leads’ email addresses. Why do you need their email addresses?

You want a customer for life, a customer who buys from you not only once but for many more years to come. This is how you connect and follow up with them. The bigger your list, the better it is. It all comes down to numbers and conversions. I am not going to say that it is going to be easy to sell even with your big list. You need to provide value to maintain happy subscribers and engaged subscribers.

Recently, mobile squeeze pages are becoming more popular. A mobile squeeze page is basically the same as email capture page, with the exception being that you capture your prospects’ mobile numbers instead of email addresses. This is a great way to get better engagement with your prospects. Instead of broadcasting an email, you would broadcast text messages. Text messages open rate are amazingly high. Based on previous studies, it has shown that as high up as 94% of SMS messages are being read within the first three minutes. This is a huge deal for marketers and business owners. You can read more about email marketing vs sms marketing.

A squeeze page is in a way an Art

If your squeeze page is well thought even with a simple design, you will reach your goal to get beyond 30% opt in rate for a campaign.

Keep in mind the following factors when designing a squeeze page:

1) Headline. This is probably the most important factor. You literally have only seconds to grab someone’s attention before they decide to move away from your squeeze page. You need to have a clear statement with attention grabbing headline of what your prospects will get from entering their email address.

2) Sub headline. Your sub headline needs to point out the benefits of them entering their email addresses, without revealing too much information.  This is what we call the information gap.  Studies have shown in the past that people absolutely hate information gaps and will take the necessary step to satisfy their curiosity.

3) Background. Your background should be simple. Depending on the squeeze page creator you use, you can easily change the background.  Sometimes a vacation background like the beach can trigger someone to opt in. But this is not the primary factor. You still need to have a well thought headline, sub headline and the actual offer that you are giving away for people in exchange for their email addresses. A best practice is to have at least two squeeze pages whenever you run a campaign, and compare the results. A different background can make a difference in the opt in rate. A different set of words can also make a difference in the opt in rate.

Tools I have used to create squeeze pages

I have used Optimized Press, PT Instant, Epic Page Pro, and several other tools to create custom squeeze pages. Personally, I love using now, it has proven itself to give me the highest conversion rate. Check out the squeeze page templates from You can download these leadpages templates for FREE, and upload it to your own webhosting server. You will need to know some HTML , and a little know how to edit these pages to suit your needs. But you get to save yourself the $37 monthly subscription.¬† I love the simplicity and being able to get a squeeze page setup within minutes. I don’t have to worry about coding anymore or do anything major to get a squeeze page up and running. The $37 a month subscription is well worth it in my book.¬† Time is money in this industry.

Check out my previous webinar that goes through a little bit more in depth about setting up a squeeze page.
