My First Week In 2014

I hope you had a good start into the New Year. My first week in 2014…has been interestingly bad and good.

I got into accident on Thursday, just two days into the New year.
I was preparing dinner when my husband called and said he couldn’t get his car to start on the way home. He asked me to pick him up so he can jumpstart his car with our other car. He successfully jumpstarted his car, but I did not have a good feeling about his car, so my husband and I switched cars. He drove the other car with our daughter in it.
I drove slowly as it rained, but right at the stoplight, I couldn’t stop the car! The break just was not working! I panicked. I hit the car in front of me. :(
Fortunately, there wasn’t any major damage to either car, just minor scratches. Unbelievable! It could of been a lot worse. Thankfully neither I nor the other lady got hurt either.
The brake “miraculously” started working right after the accident. But nonetheless, we are taking the car for a service this weekend. I honestly don’t know what to think about what happened with the brake. From the accident standpoint, I was clearly at fault even though there was an obvious issue with the brake. But the lady was very friendly even though her car was hit. She asked me if I was okay and handed another umbrella to me. She was very understanding about the whole situation and we parted ways after exchanging personal information.  I don’t know what to think about what happened, it just didn’t make sense.  But I am a firm believer in karma.
So yesterday we finally found a way to settle the situation, and we agreed to pay the damage to her car. Guess what, during our phone conversation, she told me “I’ve been in your shoes before, and I’m a firm believer in karma” wow….I was stunned and I couldn’t believe what I heard!
Maybe it was not a coincidence after all. There may always be a reason why we would cross path, even in such unfortunate circumstance. I believe there is a stronger reason why the accident had to happen. The whole situation was settled easily without any issues whatsoever.
That was the semi bad news…
Now the good news…and good news for you as well in fact.
